Entrepreneurs interested in filing an LLC in Mississippi will be required to file an annual report with the secretary of state starting in 2011.
The Mississippi state legislature passed a bill earlier this year that created a new section 79-29-215 to the Mississippi Code of 1972. The newLLC annual forms will be available online January 3, 2011, and the deadline for completing the report is April 15, 2011. There is no cost for online filing. Businesses without internet access can call to have a paper copy mailed to them. LLC’s that are operating out-of-state have to pay a $250 annual fee and are not allowed to file online. The form can be printed out, completed and sent to the secretary of state’s office.
Filing an annual report consists of reporting the name of the LLC and the state or country it is organized under, the name and physical address of its Mississippi registered agent, the address of its principal office, the names of the business managers and a description of its business.
