Entrepreneurs forming an LLC will have to consider the inevitable operational expenses, but a new website offers small business owners free help in identifying possible tax credits under the new healthcare reform.
The tax firm H&R Block and health insurer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City have worked together to provide a free website (www.BlueKCtaxcredit.com) that easily determines which healthcare tax credits businesses are eligible for.
Business owners answer a few questions, such as the number of employees and average salaries, and then quickly receive a list of the appropriate tax credits.
"Taxes are no longer something we just think about in April," said H&R Block’s Amy McAnarney. "This tool helps small businesses budget and forecast for the resulting tax implications."
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City’s CEO, Tom Bowser, said an added feature shows the business owner which group healthcare plan best fits their budget.
Companies are increasingly looking for creative ways to mitigate rising healthcare expenses. A Harvard University report in the journal Health Affairs found that every dollar spent on a company wellness program results in a savings of $3.27.
