Workshop helps entrepreneurs boost eco-friendly business growth

Entrepreneurs forming a company may consider launching eco-friendly startups. In addition to having a positive impact on the environment, business owners could find energy-friendly companies more easily win funding. The Cleantech Group recently announced it awarded more than $1.9 billion in clean technology venture investments over the course of the first quarter of 2010.

Entrepreneurs on the west coast can get insight on how to start an eco-conscious corporation and prepare for green growth thanks to an upcoming conference sponsored by Olympia’s Enterprise for Equity.

Washington state’s newspaper, the Olympian, reports that the workshops will help participants prepare sustainable business plans. The free workshops will be held in various counties in the state on May 6. They are made possible by $30,000 U.S. Department of Labor grants. The enterprise was awarded these funds because it has helped launch nearly 50 businesses with plans that reflect eco-friendly practices and products.

"Were trying to grow the pipeline of green businesses in our region," Lisa Smith, executive director of Enterprise for Equity, told the source.

Entrepreneurs may find starting a green company also helps build customer loyalty. According to a report from Burst Media, customers are willing to pay premium prices for the services of companies that boast green practices and offer eco-friendly products. ADNFCR-3052-ID-19754936-ADNFCR
